The CGR Project
"I do think that there's art that is tortured, but I prefer art that has the joy in it." - Josh Ritter
The Chloe Grace Project is an ongoing series of photographs about my daughter. The project is and will remain 21 photographs, with new ones being rotated in each year in January, and again in July. When Chloe is 20 years old, there will be one photo for each year of her life, beginning the day before she was born. For some time I was making an estimated 150 exposures of her each week, then she went through a camera shy stage, and it dropped down to about 2. I think things are changing now, though. Chloe has impacted my life in such a way that words will not do to describe. Hopefully photographs will convey the way I feel about her. This project was started in Union College Professor Martin Benjamin's Advanced Photography Independent Study Group, Winter Term 2006. Frank Rapant Nassau, NY January 2006 Statement revised June 2008 Statement revised October 2010
